In the Spirit of Charity: Service Day Celebrates Catholic Sisters Week
Sisters of Charity and SC employees gathered Tuesday, March 10 for a collaborative service project in celebration of Catholic Sisters Week. During the two-hour event in the Mother Margaret Hall Community Room, participants assembled Easter baskets for children in Santa Maria Community Services’ Promoting Our Preschoolers program and meal kits for their families.
The Sisters of Charity share a long history with Santa Maria, founded in 1897 by Sisters Blandina and Justina Segale to serve Italian immigrant families. Today, the organization supports more than 3,000 individuals each year through education, family support, and neighborhood revitalization programs.
The Service Day offered a meaningful opportunity to pause from busy schedules, serve others, and live out the heart and hope of the Sisters of Charity mission.
