The winter ForMission program took place January 22-29, 2026, at the Christian Renewal Center in Dickinson, Texas. A winter storm kept many of the presenters from attending in person, but the 19 participants and four contact mentors arrived ready to listen, learn, pray, and connect.
The ForMission program "forms the whole person for lifelong mission," said Nadiya Levchenko, RFC director of programs and initiatives. "The program fosters personal and communal transformation and development for those who minister in initial and ongoing formation. At its core, ForMission is not simply a program of professional development, but a formative journey for those entrusted with forming others. It weaves together theological depth, spiritual integration, human maturity, and pastoral skill, helping participants reflect critically on how formation happens—not only what is taught. Through communal learning, prayer, mentoring, and honest engagement with real formation challenges, ForMission creates space for formators to grow in self-awareness, discernment, and capacity for accompaniment, so that their ministry flows from an integrated, mission-centered life rather than from role or technique alone."
The ForMission winter session presenters included:
- Fr. John Markey, OP (scripture)
- Sr. Lynn Levo, CSJ, PhD (skillset)
- John Chitakure, PhD (interculturality)
- Sr. Addie Walker, SSND (ecclesiology)
- Sr. Nancy Shreck, OSF (spirituality)
