Sunday, July 6, 2025, Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity celebrated Sister Natalie Binversie Appreciation Day at the Motherhouse, Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Sister Natalie has served as Community Director for twelve years 2013-2025. As part of the day, a special dinner table was set for those Sisters that Sister Natalie served with most closely in guiding the Community. In the course of the meal, General Administration Council members, Sister Myra Jean Sweigart, Sister Theresa Feldkamp, Sister Leonette Kochan and Sister Jane Kinate offered words of gratitude for Sister’s personal qualities and leadership.

Later in the afternoon, special receptions of gratitude were held in three different locations for Sister Natalie. Given this is the 500th year anniversary of St. Francis of Assisi’s writing of the Canticle of Creation, some of the Sisters shared words on this theme focusing again on the gifts God shines forth through her. We include a few of those reflective comments here.

Be praised my Lord, for Sister Natalie, who is an unselfish giver of herself.

Be praised my Lord, for Sister Natalie, who lives and enjoys the present moment.

Be praised my Lord, for Sister Natalie, who depends totally on the Lord’s inspiration and guidance.

Be praised my Lord, for Sister Natalie, who is an inspirator and brightens life by her sense of humor.

Be praised my Lord, for Sister Natalie, who lives simply and loves lavishly, accepting everyone.

Praised be my Lord for our Sister Natalie,

Generous, humble Servant Leader in Community.

Amiable, gentle, prayerful, caring, and true;

her wisdom invites trust.

Her kindness inspires confidence.

Her readiness to

Listen, understand, and forgive

Nurtures peace,

While her daily fidelity and serene Joy enliven Hope,

Truly blessed by her leadership,

We pray with grateful hearts

That your tender blessings enfold her in return.
