Carlette Gentle, SCN, Speaks at Pallotti High School Mass

Students and staff at Pallotti High School gathered for Mass to begin Catholic Schools Week. Sister Carlette Gentle joined the school community for the celebration and later addressed the students as the guest speaker for the opening program.

Pallotti High School in Belize City is a Catholic girls’ secondary school that forms young women in academics, leadership, and Gospel values.

Sister Carlette reflected on the role of Eucharistic Adoration in daily life. She spoke about how time before the Blessed Sacrament invites quiet reflection and helps people listen more closely to God. For students, she said, this practice can bring peace, guide decisions, and strengthen a life rooted in prayer.

She also spoke about unity and compassion within the school community. Sister Carlette encouraged students to care for one another, welcome those who may feel left out, and respond to challenges with patience and kindness. These actions, she said, reflect the call of the Gospel and the Church’s teaching on the dignity of every person.

Students and staff thanked Sister Carlette for sharing her message. The girls applauded her remarks, and several teachers expressed appreciation for her visit. They noted that it is always meaningful for students to hear from a younger religious Sister who can speak about faith and daily life in a way that connects with their experience.

Catholic Schools Week invites students, teachers, and families to reflect on the gift of Catholic education and the values that shape school communities. Sister Carlette’s visit offered a moment for prayer, reflection, and encouragement as the week began.
